The short version
Edit Page is a Chrome extension for editing webpages in your own browser. Your edits, saved changes and settings stay in your browser unless you turn on sync. You never need an account to edit. We don't sell data, show ads, or track what you browse. Edit Page is operated by SummaryTube.
01What we process
Your edits
Saved changes, settings and images you pick are kept in Chrome's extension storage on your device.
Account (optional)
If you sign in with Google: your name, email address, profile picture and plan.
Synced sites (optional, Pro)
With sync on: the website addresses you chose to save and your changes for them.
Payments (optional)
Handled by Paddle. We receive your plan and subscription status — never card details.
Pricing page and uninstall survey
Anonymous counts of /pricing visits and optional answers when you uninstall. No cookies, no third parties.
02Data on your device
Settings and, if you choose to save them, your website changes are stored locally using Chrome's extension storage. Edits you don't save disappear when you reload the page. Images you pick from your computer stay in the extension's storage on your device and are never uploaded. Nothing about the pages you edit is sent to us, except as described under Sync if you turn it on.
Exports (CSS, HTML, profiles, screenshots, reports) are files you download and control.
03Accounts and payments (optional)
You never need an account to edit pages. If you sign in to use Pro, sign-in uses Google and we store your name, email address, profile picture and plan so we can provide it. To keep you signed in we also store a session record with your browser's IP address and user-agent string, used only for security. When signed in, the extension has a session of its own and tells editpage.dev its version number when it checks your plan, so we can support you.
Payments are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record. Paddle collects your payment and billing details under its own privacy policy; we receive your subscription status, plan and a Paddle customer reference so we can unlock Pro. We never see or store your full card number.
04Sync (optional, Pro)
If you sign in and turn on Sync saved sites, your saved sites (the addresses you chose to save and your changes for them) are stored with your account on editpage.dev so they are the same on every computer you sign in on. Turn sync off at any time; deleting a saved site deletes it from sync too. Images from your computer are not synced.
05editpage.dev and email
Pricing page. When you open editpage.dev/pricing we record the visit: the referring website and campaign tags in the link (for example from the extension or one of our emails), your device type, browser family and country, a random id stored in your browser so repeat visits count once, and a one-way hash of your IP address for abuse limits (never the address itself). If you're signed in, the visit is linked to your account, and so are clicks on a checkout button. We use this only to understand which pages and links lead to Pro.
Uninstall survey. When you remove the extension, Chrome opens a short optional survey. It receives the extension version, your browser family and plan type, never your account, email or browsing data.
Product email. If you have an account, we may occasionally email you about Pro (at most once a month). Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
06Permissions and why we ask
activeTab + scriptingRun the editor on the tab you choose, only after you click the icon or use a shortcut.
storageRemember your settings and saved changes on your device.
sidePanelShow the editor in Chrome's side panel, next to the page.
Per-site access (optional)Asked for only when you save changes for a website, so they can be reapplied when you return. Revoke it at any time. Automatic cleanup on every site asks for access to all sites and only hides known clutter (cookie banners, chat bubbles…) with CSS.
Showing pages in frames (optional)Lets the side-by-side compare view show pages that normally refuse to be framed — only inside that view.
User scripts (optional, Pro)Runs JavaScript you write for a saved site. Edit Page never downloads or supplies scripts.
07What we never do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information.
- The extension contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code.
- The website uses no third-party analytics or advertising; the pricing-page counts above stay with us.
- We do not read, collect or upload the content of pages you visit or edit.
- The extension executes no code loaded from the internet.
08Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run the optional account features:
- Google — sign-in (only if you choose to sign in).
- Paddle — checkout, payments, tax and invoicing, as merchant of record.
- Neon — the database that stores accounts, plans and synced sites.
- Vercel — hosting for editpage.dev.
Each processes data only to provide its service to us. Your data may be processed in countries other than your own.
09Cookies
editpage.dev sets only essential cookies, to keep you signed in when you use your account. There are no advertising or analytics cookies. The pricing page keeps a random visitor id in your browser's local storage (not a cookie) so repeat visits count once; clear site data to remove it. Paddle's checkout may set its own cookies needed to complete a payment.
10Retention and deletion
Data on your device stays until you delete it in the extension or uninstall it. Account data and synced sites stay until you delete them: Delete account on your account page removes your account and synced sites at once. Or email contact@editpage.dev from your account's address and we will delete your account and synced data. We keep records of payments only as long as tax and accounting law requires.
11Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict how it is processed. Contact us to exercise any of these rights; we will respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
12Children's privacy
Edit Page is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
13Changes to this policy
We may update this policy and will revise the effective date above. If a change affects what we collect, we will say so on this page before it takes effect.
