Getting started

What is Edit Page?

Edit Page is a Chrome extension that lets you edit any webpage visually: rewrite text, restyle elements, edit HTML, inspect CSS, remove clutter and take screenshots. It's a visual editor and a lightweight DevTools, docked beside the page.

What happened to Edit Webpage?

Edit Webpage is becoming Edit Page. It's the same extension — you'll get the update automatically, and the one-click editing you know is still there as Quick Edit.

How do I install it?

Add it free from the Chrome Web Store, then pin the Edit Page icon to your toolbar so it's one click away. No account is needed.

How do I start editing a page?

Click the Edit Page icon on any tab, or press Alt + Shift + E. Quick Edit lets you click and type straight away; the full editor opens in Chrome's side panel next to the page.

Which browsers are supported?

Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and other Chromium browsers that install from the Chrome Web Store. The extension is available in English and Spanish.

Why doesn't it work on some pages?

Chrome doesn't let any extension change its own pages (like chrome:// pages and the Chrome Web Store). Everything else, including sites you're signed in to, works.

Editing pages

Does Edit Page change the real website?

No. Edits only happen in your browser. Other visitors, and the site itself, never see them.

Will my changes stay after I reload?

Quick Edit changes reset on reload. With Edit Page 3.0 you can choose to save changes for a website, and they're reapplied every time you visit.

Does it work on React, Vue and other single-page apps?

Yes. Style changes are applied as a stylesheet, so they survive re-renders, and saved changes are reapplied when the app changes route.

Can I undo things?

Everything you do in the editor is recorded in the Changes list. Undo, redo, or revert a single change without touching the rest.

Can I edit the HTML and CSS directly?

Yes. You can edit the HTML of any element, rename tags, browse the DOM tree, see matched CSS rules and the box model, and add your own custom CSS. Pro adds advanced controls for flex, grid, effects, filters, transforms and gradients.

Can I change every matching element at once?

Yes. Select all matching elements to hide them in bulk on Free. Pro lets you edit the style of all matching elements together, and replace a color or font everywhere on the page.

Can I export my changes as code?

Pro exports your changes as CSS, HTML, React, Vue or Tailwind, so you can hand a tweak to a developer or paste it into your own project.

Saving & sync

How do saved changes work?

When you save changes for a website, Edit Page remembers them and reapplies them every time you visit that site. Chrome asks you to allow access to that one site, and you can revoke it at any time.

How many websites can I save changes for?

Free includes saved changes on 1 website. Pro gives you unlimited saved websites, several profiles per page and checkpoints.

Can I use my saved changes on another computer?

Yes, with Pro. Sign in and turn on sync, and your saved sites are the same on every computer you sign in on. Images you pick from your computer are not synced.

What happens if a website is redesigned?

Saved changes target elements on the page. If a site changes its layout, some changes may stop applying; you can re-select the elements and save again.

Screenshots & tools

What screenshots can I take?

Free captures the visible area or a region you select. Pro adds full-page and single-element screenshots, annotations, redaction and device frames.

What does one-click cleanup remove?

Cookie banners, chat bubbles, pop-ups and other known clutter, hidden with CSS so the page keeps working. Pro can run cleanup automatically on every site.

Can I preview responsive layouts?

Yes. Responsive presets and breakpoints are free. Pro adds custom viewport sizes and a live side-by-side compare.

Can it check SEO and accessibility?

Yes. Analyze shows page stats, SEO and accessibility checks, colors, fonts and contrast. Pro can export analysis reports.

Privacy & security

Do you see the pages I edit?

No. Edits happen in your browser and nothing about the pages you edit is sent to us, unless you turn on sync for your saved sites.

Why does Edit Page ask for access to a website?

Only when you save changes for that site, so they can be reapplied when you come back. The basic editor uses activeTab, which only works on the tab you choose after you click the icon.

Does the extension track me?

No. It contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and executes no code loaded from the internet.

Do I need an account?

No. Editing works without signing in. An account (Google sign-in) is only needed for Pro features and sync.

Plans & billing

Is Edit Page free?

Yes. The core editor is free forever, and everything Edit Webpage ever did stays free. Pro adds advanced and power-user tools.

What plans are there?

Pro is available monthly, yearly or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in your currency at checkout and include tax where applicable.
